Abstract
A living state is characterized by a dynamic order, maintained onto several structural levels which embrace an extensive range of dimensional and temporal values. The systems exhibiting such a property are defined as coherent ones. We discuss the basic principles of such a coherency and explore how it can be maintained during physiological steady state, embryonic development and evolution. In doing this, we underlie a role of non-linear feedbacks between the dynamic components of the living systems.
